24/07/2010 - Invitation for the Inaugural Function of the 100 MLD Minjur seawater desalination plant in Kattupalli Village on 31st July 2010 at 5PM
20/07/2010 -Hon'ble Dy. CM of Tamilnadu Inspected the desal plant before the scheduled Inauguration by Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamilnadu on 31.07.2010.
24/06/2010 - Facility 100 Hrs Performance Testing commenced at 11AM.
29/06/2010 - Facility 100 Hrs Performance Testing completed at 1.40AM.
24/06/2010 - Facility 100 Hrs Performance Testing commenced at 11.00AM.
23/06/2010 - Tamilnadu Pollution Control Board had granted Permission to Operate the Plant.
02/06/2010 - Hon'ble Dy. CM of Tamilnadu Government inspected the desalination plant.
27/05/2010 - Obtained Factory Licence
24/05/2010 - CWDL commenced disinfecting the Facility.
21/05/2010 - CMWSSB have notified CWDL to conduct Performance Test of the Facility
08/05/2010 - Snapshot near North Chennai Thermal Power Station of the tested water being evacuated through CMWSSB distribution line
06/05/2010 - The entire installations of the 100 MLD desal units testing completed
02/05/2010 - Plant stablization process commenced
28/04/2010 - Offshore pipelines Armor Blocks Protective Elements installation completed
16/04/2010 - Intake tower Installation and intake pipeline interconnection completed
01/04/2010 - Application submitted with 'Factories Department' for obtaining Factory License
31/03/2010 - Submitted application with TNPCB for 'Consent to Operate'
23/03/2010 - Amendment to CRZ Clearance issued by MoEF
23/03/2010 - National Hydrographic Office declares the Off-shore Pipelines area as 'No Anchoring Zone'
17/03/2010 - Desalination Plant is now ready for commissioning
17/03/2010 - Outfall Interconnection (offshore to onshore) completed. Outfall system completed
14/03/2010 - Intake Interconnection (offshore to onshore) completed. Seawater established
01/02/2010 - Outfall 1600mm Dia HDPE pipeline laid on the sea-bed
25/01/2010 - Intake 1600mm Dia HDPE pipeline laid on the sea-bed
October 2009 - 100 MLD seawater desalination plant on-shore installatios already completed. Only Marine works are pending to be completed due to the mangled sheetpile debris of the cofferdam struck hard in the seabed during Khai-muk and Nisha cyclonic storms of November 2008 and have prevented the installation of intake and outfall piplines.
